About Me

My name is Nicole Valens, I qualified with an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Hypnotherapy in 2015 and have been learning and developing my skills in psychotherapy ever since.

I love seeing the positive effects therapy has on my clients and how they are able to change their lives for the better.

I recently qualified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming) which is the internationally-recognised treatment for Trauma and PTSD.

Being able to combine psychotherapeutic counselling skills, EMDR and mindfulness techniques enables me to treat each client holistically and tailor therapy sessions to meet your individual needs.

It is very rewarding to hear from my clients that they have been freed from a life-limiting anxiety disorder, or been able to overcome trauma symptoms that that had affected them for years.

I will give you a safe and confidential space to explore your issues. I work in a person-centred and holistic way, which means I take the time to find out from you what is causing you difficulties, and work with you to find the solution that will really work for you.

I incorporate many different theories into my practice, because there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

Together, we will tailor a treatment plan to develop coping strategies and make the positive changes you want in your life.

MA in Social Work (Nottingham University)
Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills
Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling
Certificate in EMDR Core Skills
Certificate in Trauma Treatment
Diploma in Sports Psychology.

I am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society.

I am committed to the highest standards, adhering to their codes of professional conduct; updating my skills regularly, am fully insured and hold a recent Enhanced DBS certificate. I follow strict data protection guidelines with any personal details.
