Welcome to Stepping Stones Hypnotherapy

We help people who suffer witih anxiety and trauma to regain control of their lives

Maybe you are one of the many people who suffer with anxiety? Perhaps you suffer with panic attacks, heart palpitations, tight chest, or nausea. You may feel frequently on edge, easily startled, irritable or tired. Maybe this has had a knock on effect on your self-esteem and confidence. Or maybe you suffer with phobias, or feel overwhelmed by simple tasks. All of these are common symptoms of anxiety. And for some people, this has a huge impact on their lives, getting in the way of work, relationships or socialising.

We understand it can be daunting to approach a therapist to ask for help. We will do everything we can to put you at your ease and ensure you feel comfortable and safe. Working with our fully qualified and experienced therapist, you will gain confidence, increase your self esteem and feel more in control.

Stepping Stones will help you to cope with almost anything life throws at you, better than you could before, in a calmer, more relaxed, more positive way.

How do we work?

We use a combination of counselling, mindfulness and hypnotherapy to give you effective coping strategies to manage your anxiety and to change the way you react to stressful or anxiety-provoking situations. We work with you to formulate an individual treatment plan suited to your needs.

We offer face to face sessions in our comfortable therapy room based in Finchley N3

However, we understand that some people prefer to access therapy from the comfort of their own home and so we also offer online therapy sessions. Hypnotherapy works very well online and is as effective as seeing someone face to face.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a type of psychotherapy that uses our natural ability to relax into a trance-like state (hypnosis) to effect positive changes in our subconscious. Using guided relaxation and visualisation, you will be able to relax deeply into a state of heightened focus and concentration. This allows you to be open to suggestions designed to help you achieve your therapeutic goals. Because you’re in a heightened state of focus, you are more open to proposals or advice that, in your normal mental state, you might ignore or disregard.

Hypnosis is a very safe practice. Unlike what may be portrayed in the movies, you are in control of your mind and body at all times; you remain completely aware of what you are doing and whatever is being asked of you. A hypnotherpist cannot compel you to do anything you do not wish to, and you will never be "under their control".

When choosing a hypnotherapist, ensure they are suitably quailfied and experienced in treating the issues you wish to address.

At Stepping Stones, we offer a free confidential telephone consultation so that you can ask any questions you wish, and ensure you feel at ease with the therapist.
